1-15-10 Harlandale art and music teachers were present at the SAY Si Exhibition and Awards Ceremony to be honored and awarded the 2009-2010 San Antonio Arts Education Initiative, Innovative Scholarships for Arts Educators. Those awarded from Harlandale ISD were Art Instructor Gabriela Cadena of Adams Elementary, Music Instructor Oscar Castro of Morrill Elementary, Band Director Karlos Elizondo of McCollum High School, Art Instructor Noe Garza of Columbia Heights Elementary, and Music Instructor Catherine Hadnum of Rayburn Elementary.
1-15-10 The Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) in cooperation with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is touring and observing career and technical education (CTE) programs in Texas as a part of the OECD “Learning for Jobs” study. Harlandale High School was selected as a tour site and was visited by the OECD and TEA on Jan. 15th. The OECD team will visit various school districts in the state, beginning with two in the San Antonio area, Harlandale and Judson ISD.
12-19-09 On Dec. 19th, The Terrell Wells Middle School 7th grade boys’ soccer team won its first Soccer Conference Championship since the 1990’s. The Terrell Wells soccer team would like to thank the school’s administration, faculty and student body for encouraging and supporting the team throughout the year. We hope to see everyone next year as the team defends its title.

10-1-09 The State deadline for the chicken pox vaccine is Thursday, October 1, 2009. However, Harlandale ISD will provide a grace period until October 9, 2009. All enrolled students need proof of the vaccination from their doctor or clinic. Any student who does not have the provided documentation by October 9th, will not be allowed to remain in school after that date. For more info, Please call your school's Nurse.
9-28-09 Columbia Heights and Morrill Elementary Schools top the list of the Best Elementary Schools in San Antonio, as reported by the CHILDREN AT RISK Organization. Columbia Heights is ranked as the #1 Elementary School in San Antonio, and Morrill Elementary ranks #7. Congratulations to Columbia Heights and Morrill Elementary schools.
9-10-09 Harlandale ISD partners with Harris Connect, a Virginia-based company, to produce the Harlandale ISD Alumni Directory. The publication is expected to print in March of 2010. Click here for more details.
