Mrs. Solis has been working at HMS since 1979. She graduated from Harlandale High School. At the moment she's an attendance worker. Her experience here has been amazing! She loves working with staff,students, and parents. Mrs.Solis has not been an attendance worker all this time she's been here. She first started off working as a teacher aide, and then moved to the front office. She's worked as a cafeteria lady, in a real estate office, and even in a clothing manufacturing factory. When she's not at work,she loves to travel and fish. If you see her in the front office as you walk in,say hi.

Mrs. Gutierrez has been working at Harlandale Middle since 1974 as an attendance clerk. She enjoys working at HMS because she gets to meet new people. She grew up in a small town South of San Antonio called Christine, Texas. In her eyes all of the students are special individuals and unique in their own way. This graduate of of Jourdanton Texas had big dreams for her future; After business college she went on with her hopes of becoming a secretary. "I look forward to facing another day with different challenges." She says. She loves being at her desk and seeing old students as parents. We know for a fact that this strong inspirational woman is going to keep doing a good job on Harlandale Middle's staff for as long as she can.

Mrs.Gonzales has been working at HMS since 1997. She graduated from John K. Kennedy. She worked at Harlandale High School for a year and at Terrell Wells Middle School for a year. Her favorite foods are nachos & chalupas. When she was young she wanted to be a teacher. She LOVES working with the "Mighty Braves". When we wake up and sometimes say "I don't feel like getting up to go to work or school",well she always looks forward to coming to school to work with the students, faculty&staff.

Mary Herrera

Mrs. Hererra is a life-long resident of the Harlandale School District area where she is well respected and hopes to keep things running just the way they are. She was born and raised in the "South side and is proud of it" as she clearly states. Her dream career was to change the world and she feels that she is doing just that. As a graduate of the Harlandale District being an employee for HISD for roughly 19 years; she started off as a campus monitor for 6 years and now is the PEIMS data clerk. Mrs. Hererra has a very personal attachment to the district, especially HMS. She worked as a parent volunteer through all her children's school and is now seeing her grandchildren coming through the same school she went to. Her inspiration is Cesar Chavez; as a young girl growing up in the Harlandale District she admired his uniqueness and talents. She feels that her work keeps her busy and possibly brings back memories from her best years in middle school. We all hope she keeps up her good work and we can count on her for the rest of her years on Harlandale Middle Schools Staff.

Willie Elaine Lewis

As HMS's special education liaison, Ms. Lewis is an invaluable asset to our staff and has been so since 1982. Previously, Ms. Lewis was at St. Gerard High School. Ms. Lewis holds three degrees (home economics, special education, and a master's in computer information systems) and does an outstanding job of holding down the fort in special education and special needs at Harlandale Middle.
