Dear Harlandale ISD Parent/Guardian,

Dear Parents:

The H1N1 flu has been a topic in the news frequently in the past several months. The Harlandale Independent School District has been working with local public health agencies to have a plan of action, should the flu become widespread in our community.

Disinfecting commonly touched surfaces in our schools and isolating staff and students with flu-like symptoms or fever are part of that plan. Together we can help prevent the spread of H1N1 or other viruses by reminding our children to wash their hands frequently using soap and water. School attendance is important as we strive to meet the educational needs of our children.

However, if your child exhibit flu-like symptoms and run fever, please keep students home until they have been free of symptoms for 24 hours.

Thank you for supporting the Harlandale Independent School District as we work together to address this important health concern. We recommend that you check our web-site often for the most recent updates on H1N1 flu issues.
